So much for team meetings. The Pirates have now lost 9 of their last 11, and worse yet, 7 of their last 8 at home. Is this just one of those stretches, or is the bottom dropping out?
That being said, at the 1/3 mark of the season, they are 2 over .500. If I had told you in March that's what their record would be at this point, would you have been surprised/pleased? Pirates beat writer Liz Bloom of the Post-Gazette will be my guest at 12:20.
The Steelers defense had many problems last year, and they were great. But none greater than their inability to stop the run. Certainly you look at personnel, bu8t is it time for Mike Tomlin and Keith Butler to change the scheme a bit? I think so.
Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final tonight. Penguins play-by-play man Steve Mears is in Las Vegas, and will discuss hockey in that city and the series at 1pm.
No doubt Anthony Rizzo, and probably Joe Maddon, are now on Pittsburgh's "bad guys" list. Who would be on yours? I'm not talking about a David Volek or Francisco Cabrera, guys who just made plays. I'm talking about VILLAINS by their nature and actions!!!
