2-22-18 US Women's Hockey wins the Gold!!

Congratulations to the USA women's Olympic hockey team for winning the gold medal! With their success, can we make the statement that USA hockey is close to, if not even, with Canada? Not in terms of volume...there are many more Canadians in the NHL than Americans. And the USA will certainly have to win gold more than once every 20 years (38 years in the case of the men) to claim equality. But if you consider just the best of the best 9 in the NHL, isn't it awfully close?

Look at the Penguins roster, chock full of Americans, not to mention the head coach. We'll discuss this with Mark Madden at 12:20, and then Guy Junker 1-2. #StanandGuyLovetheShow.

Speaking of men's hockey, today is the anniversary of the Miracle on Ice win over the Russians at Lake Placed. We'll be playing Kurt Russell's interpretation of the great Herb Brooks speech. This event, 38 years ago today, was voted the greatest sporting event of the 20th century. Was it for you? What do you remember about it

What in the world are they doing in Aliquippa with the firing of football coach Mike Zmijanac? Post-Gazette scholastic editor Mike White will discuss the issue at 12:40.

And finally today, we'll talk to new Riverhounds head coach Bob Lilley at 1:40.
