Flacco to Mentor Darnold On What Not To Do When Playing Quarterback

I must admit, when I first read this headline, it was a real head scratcher. I mean what could Flacco have to offer Sam Darnold in the ways of mentorship? "Hey Sam, it's real easy, the key to winning it all is having an elite defense with two first ballot hall of famers and all-time greats on it, and then just throwing the ball up for grabs about 5 times a game, all of them resulting in monster pass interference calls, It's as good as a catch!" I don't know I just don't see it. Or at least I didn't see it. Then, I had an epiphany. Joe Flacco won't be teaching Darnold how to play the position through his experience and his....well his experience. I was going to say talent but lets not kid ourselves there. No, instead, Sam will be learning exactly what NOT to do when playing quarterback in the NFL. When Darnold drops back to pass into double coverage deep down field, he will stop and think to himself "would Joe do this?" The answer obviously being yes, will force Darnold into the right play, which is to run or simply hit the check down out of the backfield. It's sort of a do as I say, not as I do kind of thing. Could be one of the most lucrative mentor-ships in all of sports history.
