No 'Hard Knocks' is good for Steelers, bad for fans

According to reports, HBO's 'Hard Knocks' series is passing on the Pittsburgh Steelers. Instead, the Chargers and the Rams will be the subjects of the hit show.

This is great for the Steelers. Sure, the team has final say on what makes it way into the show, but that doesn't mean that it isn't a distraction.

The Steelers have been shying away from distractions since the departure of Antonio Brown and Le'Veon Bell. It's better for the team to not have a camera crew around all the time.

Steelers fans should probably be bummed out. Sure, it's not a true all access show. HBO doesn't have the final say on what makes it into the program. Still, it would have given the fan base some access that they wouldn't otherwise have had.

The Penguins put out the 'In the Room' docuseries. I've enjoyed it over the years. It gives us a little bit more insight into who the players and coaches are. It's probably heavily scrubbed, but it's still better than not having it.

The Steelers are going to be happy to not have the distraction, but the fans should be bummed out.
