When the Steelers were 13-3 in 2017, you could tell that they were going to be a disappointment at some point. Despite the gaudy record, they struggled with the Packers, Colts, Bengals, and Ravens that year. None of those teams were good.
13-3 speaks for itself, but the style points left a lot to be desired.
Fast forward to 2019, and I don't give a rats ass about style points. Typically, you'd see an 0-10 team like the Bengals and think about annihilation. I'm just thinking about the "W."
Jaylen Samuels could be the feature back this Sunday. Is JuJu going to play? How about Diontae Johnson? Maurkice Pouncey is going to be absent due to his suspension.
That's an ugly cast of characters on the offensive side of the ball. So, like I said before, style points don't matter. If you win by one or 100, the win still counts.
If the Steelers can get to 6-5, they'll be tied with tonight's loser in the Houston/Indianapolis game. If it's the Colts, the Steelers will leapfrog them due to the head-to-head tiebreaker. Lose, and well, it's an uphill battle.
I don't care if it's ugly. This year, that doesn't matter. You shouldn't care, either. The Steelers just need to find a way to beat Cincy by whatever means necessary.
