There's a delicate balance to strike during the NFL preseason. Do you play your star players in order to get them ready for the regular season or do you keep them out to prevent injury?
The Steelers won't dress Ben Roethlisberger tomorrow, and Mike Tomlin said that some other veteran players will be held out.
Devin Bush has star potential, but he's not a veteran. I want to see him play the entire game.
The Steelers defense has been victimized by breakdowns and poor alignment over the past few seasons. Now, Devin Bush gets a green dot on his helmet and a chance to call out the defensive signals. I want to see if he can do that over the course of a full 60 minutes.
As the 10th pick in the draft, I also want to see him dominate. If he's playing into the 3rd and 4th quarter, he will be playing against a lot of players that wont make the Buccaneers roster. I was to see Bush distinguish himself as the best player on the field.
The Steelers will be counting on the rookie to play a bunch of snaps this year. Why not find out in week one of the preseason if he's up to the challenge?
