It has been announced via a press release that the in-person 2021 Dick’s Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon has been canceled.
The City of Pittsburgh determined that it could not grant the marathon a permit due to safety concerns regarding the magnitude of the event and the sheer amount of people the event would draw.
They hope that they can return to in-person races later this year. Runners who have already signed up are eligible to run in the virtual event or request a refund of registration fees.
