JuJu is rock & roll

"Turn down that damn rock music!" -- Every parent at one point or another.

Yo, don't knock what you can't understand.

Steelers WR JuJu Smith-Schuster is 22 years old. He was born in 1996. The average age of people bitching about JuJu is 45+.

JuJu was late for a Pro Bowl practice and it's caused an uproar in this town. If being late for a Pro Bowl practice is considered a sin, then we're all going to hell. We've all done worse.

What else is JuJu guilty of? Self promotion? Welcome to 2019.

I just turned 28. I'm a Millennial. My generation posts everything on social media. People regularly come up with cute ways to tell their followers that they're pregnant. There are gender reveals for their babies. Dogs have Instagram accounts. People film themselves telling their families that they're coming out of the closet. Everything my generation does is available online.

Did you go somewhere cool this summer? Post it online. How was the dentist today? Post it online. Did you just run into Donnie Iris downtown? Post it online.

I don't love it, but it's reality. Young people live on the internet. It's the society that they were were raised in. JuJu Smith-Schuster is no different. Except that he's a millionaire wide receiver playing for one of the premier franchises in the NFL.

For crusty old sports folk the problem isn't with JuJu Smith-Schuster, it's with the generation that they can not relate to.

Yo, don't knock what you can't understand.
