Defending champ Kenny Perry has won three of the past four major championships, a streak that began a year ago at Fox Chapel. Perry set the 54-hole scoring record with rounds of 63-63-64 and will be looking to become the first repeat champion since Arnold Palmer in 1985, the third year of the event.

Colin Montgomerie made his Champions Tour debut a year ago at Fox Chapel and is becoming more of a fixture with seven top-10 finishes in eight starts in 2014. Monty won his first tournament on American soil and his first major of any kind in May at the Senior PGA Championship.

Fred Couples won the tournament in 2011, the year before it moved to Fox Chapel, and has been in contention each of the past two years. He finished tied for fourth to Joe Daley in 2012 and tied for second a year ago behind Perry. Couples has five top-five finishes this season, including a victory in the Toshiba Classic.

Bernhard Langer leads the Champions Tour in money, scoring average (68.10) and Charles Schwab Cup points (1,552). He already has two victories this season -- Mitsubishi Classic and Insperity Invitational -- and three second-place finishes in 10 starts.

Greensburg native Rocco Mediate won twice in his rookie season on the Champions Tour in 2013 after winning six times in his career on the PGA Tour. But he has not had as much success this season, with just four top 10s in 11 starts.
